Wine of Argentina
The Argentine wine industry is the fifth largest producer of wine in the world. Argentine wine, as with some aspects of Argentine cuisine, has its roots in Spain. During the Spanish colonisation of the Americas, vine cuttings were brought to Santiago del Estero in 1557 and the cultivation of the grape and wine production stretched first to neighbouring regions and then to other parts of the country.
Fast forward to present day and Malbec sales from Argentina have grown unabated and is one of the most popular grape varietals with under 35 year olds in the UK. We offer a ladder approach working with the premium packaged Para Dos range right to the estate bottled Gauchezco Malbec Oro produced from exclusive sites in the Uco Valley, Mendoza.
