McPeterson Chardonnay

Limestone Coast, Australia

McPeterson Chardonnay

The soil composition in the Limestone Coast area is considered unique and is seen as the main reason why the number of top-class wines is so high. As the name Limestone Coast suggests, the subsoil in this part of Australia consists of limestone. The advantage of the limestone subsoil is that it is well drained and rich in nutrients.

The climate is maritime to cool, and continental influences are noticeable further inland. However, the ocean has a major influence on the climate, especially near the coast. In particular, the cool breezes that constantly blow over the land from the sea help to ensure that the grapes do not get too hot in summer and that both the growing period and the ripening process can take place in peace.

A beautiful example of an Australian Chardonnay. Hearty, with notes of nectarine and pear. The limestone coast provides its mineral core – energetic, yet meaty and with a touch of creaminess. A pleasure.
